Mixology Monday With The Leveretts - Seckel Pear Fizz (Mocktail)

Hey There,

Another new year... another dry January.  We came across these Seckel pears while grocery shopping and decided to experiment. These are sweet and taste like both a pear and a apple. We chose to make a fizz "mocktail" and somehow this tastes just like a gin fizz. We hope you enjoy! As always, if you make any of our drinks, take a picture and share them with us online! This makes 1 drink! Let's get started!



Here's what you need:

For Garnish
1 Fresh Basil Leaf

For Drink
3 to 4 Fresh Basil Leaves,
1/2 Chopped Seckel Pear,
2 oz . Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice (1 large lime)
1 Egg White
3/4 oz. Simple Syrup
2 or 3 oz. Tonic Water

You will also need shaker cup, mixing glass, muddler, strainer and a coup glass.




Let's Make the Drink!

  1. In your mixing glass add:

    • Basil Leaves (3-4)

    • Chopped Pyrus Pear (1/2 of a small pear)

    • Simple Syrup (3/4 oz.)

  2. Muddle for 30 seconds or so and set aside.

  3. In your shaker cup add:

    • Egg white (just 1)

    • Lime Juice (1 oz.)

  4. Dry Shake vigorously 30-45 seconds.

  5. Add to shaker cup:

    • Basil Pear Mixture

    • Remaining Lime Juice (1 oz.)

    • Ice

  6. Shake to chill and strain into your coup glass.

  7. Top with 2-3 oz. tonic water.

  8. Garnish with basil leaf.

  9. Enjoy!
