This week's cocktail recipe is another timeless classic similar to the old fashioned and sidecar. The bold but sippable Manhattan combines whiskey, vermouth and bitters with a cherry garnish. Named for one of NY's five boroughs, the Manhattan is simple and straightforward, no frills or fanfare but has many variations. For our recipe, we used the black owned brands Shinju Whisky and Hella Bitters because we truly love them. We hope you enjoy! As always, if you make any of our drinks, take a picture and share them with us online! Instagram ---> @ staynfocusimages
This makes 1 drink! Let's get started!
1 Cocktail Cherry (we used a bourbon cherry)
2 oz. Whisky
3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth
Several Dashes Bitters (we used ginger bitters)
You will also need 1 martini glass, a mixing glass, hawthorne strainer, cocktail pick, bar spoon and ice.
In mixing glass, add:
Whisky (2 oz.)
Sweet Vermouth (3/4 oz.)
Bitters (several dashes)
Strain into your martini glass.
Skewer your cocktail cherry and add as garnish.
Sip slow and Enjoy!
